Client Success Story
Name: Warren Hodgdon
Location: Rochester, NH
GoSolar NH: Tell us a bit about how you “got in” to solar?
Hodgdon: I like the prospect of producing electricity without emissions. It was the “non-polution,” part of solar that I was really after. The savings on my energy bill is/was secondary.
GoSolar NH: What was your initial inclination to start looking in to it as a solution for your energy needs?
Hodgdon: I originally looked at doing the array myself using items sold on eBay, but I had too many other projects going on, so it made sense to bring in some professionals to help realize my needs.
GoSolar NH: What ultimately led you to decide, “yes, I’m doing this”?
Hodgdon: GoSolar confirmed my property was ideal for a solar array. Simple as that.
GoSolar NH: How did GoSolar NH help you in this process?
Hodgdon: They helped arrange the financing and aided in gathering all of the permits required to install the array. It was very painless for me.
GoSolar NH: How did you learn of GoSolar? How/when did you get in contact?
Hodgdon: They contacted me. They’re actually located almost directly across the street from me, which is convenient.
GoSolar NH: Did they answer any questions you had? Did they give you information that you didn’t already have that helped aide you in your decision?
Hodgdon: They answered all of my questions and continued to respond even after the job had been completed. They’re great at keeping in touch and being available when their needed.
GoSolar NH: Tell us about your project. What did you decide to go with (how big of an array, etc.)?
Hodgdon: My array consists of 33 solar panels set in 3 rows of 11 on my roof.
GoSolar NH: When did the process to install your solar array start?
Hodgdon: In early April the planning and permit phase took place.
GoSolar NH: When did it end?
Hodgdon: Construction was scheduled the first week of May 2016. The construction took about 1½ days and then about another week for the inspection by the city.
GoSolar NH: How was the process from start to finish?
Hodgdon: Outstanding. GoSolar did everything they said they would do regarding planning and permits. They were there when they said they were going to be and finished a little ahead of schedule.
GoSolar NH: What was your experience like in dealing with the staff of GoSolar?
Hodgdon: The entire staff is outstanding. They even answered all of my five-year-old’s questions taking the time to understand what he was asking. You don’t get that level of service with everybody.
GoSolar NH: Have you experienced any sort of financial benefits due to the acquisition of your solar array?
Hodgdon: So far a lower electric bill, but that is being offset by the loan payment. All in all it has been a wash so far. Looking forward to the end of the loan, when it is paid off, the array is large enough to offset my entire electric bill which averages $187 a month.
GoSolar NH: Any other benefits that may not fall into the “financial” end of things? What’s life like with solar?
Hodgdon: It is nice knowing that any reduction in green house emissions will help my children’s future. That’s what I’m accomplishing with my array, which I’m proud of. Everyone should consider it.
GoSolar NH: Would you recommend GoSolar to anybody else thinking about solar energy?
Hodgdon: I have already personally recommended GoSolar to at least 4 families that I know are interested in solar, and I won’t hesitate to recommend anyone to at least consider a consultation with them. The technology and ease of installation/use is amazing.
